Modifying Analysis Requirements, Rules and Actions
Last updated: July 28, 2025
Feature Overview
After creating an analysis and viewing the results on your dashboard, you may need to make adjustments to improve the accuracy or effectiveness of your candidate evaluation. The platform allows you to modify three key components of any existing analysis: Requirements (evaluation criteria and weighting), Rules (automated status changes based on performance), and Actions (automated responses like emails or campaign assignments). All modifications trigger real-time reanalysis of candidates, ensuring your results always reflect your current configuration.
Available Actions
This feature enables you to perform the following actions:
Modify requirements - Edit criteria, weighting, and mandatory status
Add or remove requirements - Expand or reduce evaluation parameters
Configure automated rules - Set up status changes based on candidate performance
Create custom actions - Automate responses based on analysis outcomes
Real-time reanalysis - Update candidate evaluations immediately after changes
Manage candidate statuses - Control how candidates are categorised based on performance
Step-by-Step Instructions
Modifying Requirements
Editing Existing Requirements
Access Requirements: Click on "Requirements" in your analysis dashboard
Review Current Setup: View all requirements currently assigned to the analysis
Edit Individual Requirements: For each requirement, you can:
Modify the requirement text and criteria
Adjust the weighting to change its importance in the overall score
Toggle mandatory status to determine if it's required or optional
Save Changes: Click "Save Requirements" when satisfied with modifications
Adding New Requirements
Add Requirements: Click "Add Additional Requirements"
Configure New Criteria: Set up the new requirement parameters
Set Weighting and Status: Define importance and mandatory/optional status
Apply Changes: Click "Updates" to trigger reanalysis
Removing Requirements
Select Requirements: Choose requirements you want to remove
Delete: Click the delete option for unwanted requirements
Confirm Removal: Verify the deletion
Update Analysis: Click "Updates" to reprocess candidates
Real-Time Reanalysis Process
Automatic Trigger: System immediately begins reanalysing all candidates
Progress Monitoring: Track reanalysis progress (e.g., "reanalysing all 28 candidates")
Updated Results: Numbers across tabs update in real-time
Completion: Review updated candidate counts and statuses
Configuring Rules
Understanding Rules
Rules automatically change candidate statuses based on their analysis performance and scores.
Adding New Rules
Access Rules Section: Navigate to the Rules area of your analysis
Add Rules: Click "Add Rules"
Configure Parameters: Set up rule conditions, such as:
Performance Criteria: Define what triggers the rule (e.g., "mandatory requirements met")
Score Thresholds: Set minimum scores (e.g., "scores above 70%")
Status Assignment: Choose resulting status (e.g., "marked as shortlisted")
Example Rule Configuration
Condition: "If mandatory requirements are met"
AND Score: "Anyone that scores above 70%"
THEN Action: "Should be marked as shortlisted"
Saving Rules
Review Configuration: Verify rule parameters are correct
Save Rules: Click "Updates" to activate the new rules
Add Multiple Rules: Repeat process for additional automation rules
Configuring Actions
Understanding Actions
Actions automatically execute specific tasks based on analysis outcomes, such as:
Committing changes to your ATS
Sending candidates to marketing campaigns
Triggering email communications
Adding New Actions
Access Actions Section: Navigate to the Actions area
Review Existing Actions: Check currently configured actions (e.g., rejection emails)
Add Additional Actions: Click to create new automated actions
Configure Action Parameters: Set up action triggers and outcomes
Example Action Configuration
Trigger: "If candidate status is shortlisted"
Action: "Add to specific campaign"
Target: Select the appropriate campaign
Saving and Executing Actions
You have two options when saving actions:
Option 1: Save Only
Click "Save Only"
Result: Configuration is saved but not immediately executed
Use Case: When you want to set up actions for future use
Option 2: Save and Action
Click "Save and Action"
Result: Configuration is saved AND immediately executed
Immediate Effects:
Rejected candidates receive rejection emails
Shortlisted candidates are added to campaigns
ATS updates are committed
Use Case: When you want immediate implementation
Monitoring Results After Modifications
Status Updates
Automatic Processing: System applies new rules to all candidates
Status Changes: Candidates meeting new criteria receive updated statuses
Real-Time Updates: Dashboard reflects changes immediately
Verification Process
Check Candidate Counts: Verify numbers match expectations
Review Individual Profiles: Click on specific candidates to confirm:
Status Updates: Verify correct status assignments
Action Execution: Confirm actions were performed (e.g., campaign enrollment)
Communication Tracking: Check if automated messages were triggered
Example Verification
Rule: Candidates scoring above 70% marked as shortlisted
Result: Only qualifying candidates receive shortlisted status
Action: Shortlisted candidates automatically added to campaign
Confirmation: Campaign conversations initiated for qualified candidates
Important Considerations
Real-Time Processing
All changes trigger immediate reanalysis of all candidates
Processing time varies based on candidate volume
Dashboard updates automatically reflect new results
Rule Sequencing
Rules are applied in the order they're created
Multiple rules can affect the same candidate
Consider rule interactions when creating complex workflows
Action Execution
"Save and Action" immediately executes configured actions
Actions cannot be undone once executed
Test configurations carefully before applying to live campaigns
Best Practices
Requirement Modifications
Test changes on a small subset before applying broadly
Consider the impact of weighting changes on overall scores
Ensure mandatory requirements align with actual job needs
Rule Configuration
Start with simple rules before creating complex logic
Monitor rule performance and adjust thresholds as needed
Document rule logic for future reference
Action Management
Use "Save Only" for initial setup and testing
Verify all action parameters before using "Save and Action"
Monitor action execution results for quality assurance
Quick Reference
Three Modification Types:
Requirements: Edit criteria, weighting, mandatory status
Rules: Automate status changes based on performance
Actions: Trigger automated responses and integrations
Update Process: Modify → Save → Updates → Real-time Reanalysis → Verify Results
Action Execution Options:
Save Only: Configuration saved for later use
Save and Action: Immediate execution of configured actions
