Rulesets
Last updated: July 28, 2025
What are Rulesets?
Rulesets are reusable sets of requirements, rules, and actions that streamline your job analysis process. Instead of manually configuring the same settings for each job analysis, you can create a ruleset once and apply it to multiple jobs instantly. This feature saves time and ensures consistency across similar job analyses.
Actions You Can Perform with Rulesets
View existing rulesets - Browse all previously created rulesets
Create new rulesets - Build custom rulesets with specific requirements, rules, and actions
Edit existing rulesets - Modify ruleset configurations as needed
Apply rulesets to jobs - Automatically analyse jobs using predefined ruleset settings
Customise individual analyses - Make job-specific modifications while maintaining the base ruleset structure
Step-by-Step Instructions
Viewing Existing Rulesets
Navigate to the Analyse section
Click on the Rulesets button
View the list of all previously created rulesets (most recent appears at the top)
Creating a New Ruleset
Go to Analyse → Rulesets
Click the Create Ruleset button
Configure your ruleset by adding:
Requirements (e.g., "Does the candidate have an MBA?")
Rules (e.g., ability to update statuses based on score)
Actions (optional additional automated actions)
Give your ruleset a descriptive name (e.g., "Testing Ruleset for Video")
Click Save to create the ruleset
You'll be redirected to the ruleset's dedicated page
Editing an Existing Ruleset
Navigate to Analse → Rulesets
Select the ruleset you want to modify
Click the Edit Ruleset button
Make changes to any section (requirements, rules, or actions)
Save your changes
Applying a Ruleset to Jobs
From the rulesets view, select your desired ruleset
Click Add Jobs
Choose your job source:
If integrated with an ATS: Select from the pulled job listings
If not integrated: Input your job description manually
Select the specific job you want to analyse
Click Next Step
The system will automatically analyse the job using your ruleset's predefined settings
Customising Individual Analyses
When you need to modify settings for a specific job analysis while keeping the base ruleset intact:
Open the analysis that was created using a ruleset
Navigate to the section you want to modify (e.g., Requirements)
Make your desired changes (e.g., add "Speaks a European language")
Click Update
When prompted, choose your preference:
Just this analysis - Applies changes only to the current job (disconnects from ruleset)
All analyses in this ruleset - Updates the entire ruleset and all associated analyses
Confirm your selection
Key Benefits
Time Efficiency: Analyse jobs with just two clicks using predefined settings
Consistency: Ensure standardised evaluation criteria across similar positions
Flexibility: Maintain the ability to customise individual analyses when needed
Reusability: Apply the same configuration to multiple jobs without rebuilding from scratch
Important Notes
When you modify an individual analysis and choose "just this analysis," it becomes disconnected from the original ruleset
You still benefit from the initial ruleset configuration, but future ruleset updates won't affect that specific analysis
