Disconnecting Jobs from Rulesets

Feature Overview

When you've used rulesets to analyse candidates against predefined requirements, rules, and actions, you may find that certain jobs need different criteria than what was originally defined in the ruleset. The disconnect feature allows you to either modify ruleset requirements for all associated jobs or detach a specific job from its ruleset to create independent analysis parameters. This flexibility ensures you can adapt your analysis criteria without affecting other jobs that should continue using the original ruleset configuration.

Available Actions

This feature enables you to perform the following actions:

  1. Modify ruleset requirements - Edit existing requirements within a ruleset-connected job

  2. Choose modification scope - Decide whether changes apply to all jobs or just the current job

  3. Disconnect individual jobs - Detach a specific job from its ruleset to create independent analysis

  4. Apply universal changes - Update requirements across all jobs using the same ruleset

  5. Access jobs directly - Edit job requirements without going through the ruleset interface

  • Step-by-Step Instructions

    Modifying Requirements Through Ruleset Interface

    1. Navigate to Ruleset: Locate and click on the ruleset containing the job you want to modify

    2. Select Target Job: Find and click on the specific job you want to edit within the ruleset

    3. Review Current Setup: Examine the existing candidates and requirements that were set from the ruleset

    4. Edit Requirements:

      • Identify requirements that are no longer relevant

      • Delete unwanted requirements (e.g., remove "proficient using HubSpot" requirement)

      • Make any other necessary modifications

    5. Save Changes: Click the update/save button to proceed

  • Choosing Modification Scope

    After making changes, you'll see a confirmation dialog asking: "Do you want to save these settings for this analysis or for all analyses that use this rule set?"

    Option 1: Disconnect This Job Only

    1. Select "Just This Analysis"

    2. Result: The current job will be disconnected from the ruleset

    3. Outcome: This job will now operate independently with its own set of requirements

    4. Impact: Other jobs using the same ruleset remain unaffected

  • Option 2: Apply to All Jobs

    1. Select "All Analyses"

    2. Result: Changes will apply to all jobs currently using this ruleset

    3. Outcome: All connected jobs will receive the updated requirements

    4. Impact: Universal changes across all ruleset-associated jobs

  • Option 3: Cancel Changes

    1. Select "Cancel"

    2. Result: No changes are applied

    3. Outcome: Job remains connected to ruleset with original requirements

    4. Impact: System returns to previous state

  • Modifying Requirements Through Direct Job Access

    1. Navigate Directly to Job: Access the specific job without going through the ruleset interface

    2. Edit Requirements: Make necessary changes to the job's requirements

    3. Receive Confirmation: If the job is connected to a ruleset, you'll see the same confirmation message as described above

    4. Choose Scope: Select whether to disconnect the job or apply changes to all ruleset jobs

    When to Disconnect a Job

    • Job requirements have evolved beyond the original ruleset parameters

    • You need job-specific criteria that shouldn't affect other positions

    • Temporary modifications are needed for a particular hiring cycle

    • The job represents a unique role that differs from the ruleset's target positions

  • When to Apply Universal Changes

    • The modification represents an improvement that benefits all similar positions

    • Company-wide policy changes affect all roles using the ruleset

    • The original requirement was incorrect and should be updated everywhere

    • You want to maintain consistency across all jobs in the ruleset

    Two Ways to Modify Job Requirements:

    1. Through Ruleset: Ruleset → Select Job → Edit Requirements → Choose Scope

    2. Direct Access: Job → Edit Requirements → Choose Scope (if ruleset-connected)

  • Modification Scope Options:

    • This Analysis Only: Disconnects job from ruleset

    • All Analyses: Updates entire ruleset
